zinc alloy knives are purpose built to take abuse.
This claim starts with the use of 440C
stainless steel blades. 440C has the highest carbon content of the 440 stainless steel series, and is therefore the toughest. They hold their edge very well.
But, it's more than just a
tough blade. The handles are made of zinc alloy, so they can take all the
same abuse that the blade can take.
Also, everything on the inside
is stainless steel. From the detents that hold the blade inside and
outside, to the carrier, to the spring all stainless steel.
The spring has been increased in strength. Failure is almost non-existent with this newest spring system.
Additionally, the glass break
on the end is a steel ball bearing. The ball bearing is excellent for
breaking a car window and allowing emergency escape.
Also, the belt clip is steel.
It holds it's shape and strength very well.
Lastly, the switch is solid
metal. Some are hollow. Some area even plastic. With CobraTec
the switch is solid metal.
Every aspect of these knives
are purpose built to take abuse.
They do of course carry a
lifetime warranty, as you would expect from a knife built to be so tough. The warranty also includes a one-day turn around policy.
The Survival series offers a blend of automatic knife and multi function tool. The blade incorporates a saw back, a spanner wrench slot, a bottle opener, and a gut hook for hunting but doubles as a seat belt cutter.
CobratTec Survival knives come with the typical weatherproof carrying case, and durable nylon holster, plus two extra blades. The two extra blades can be tanto or drop point. One will be serrated and one non-serrated.
